Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov will fight on February 18th in Chelyabinsk
As we announced earlier, a big boxing and MMA show will take place in Chelyabinsk (Russia) on February 18th. The tournament is organized by RCC Boxing Promotions (Titov Boxing Promotions) with the support of the Governor of Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky. The venue will be the Ice Arena ‘Traktor’ (the event starts at 17-00 local time).
One of the most interesting bouts of the fighting show will be a 10-round fight for the WBC Asian Boxing Council Сontinental lightweight title (up to 61,2 кг). The possessor of the title, non-defeated representative of Tajikistan Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov (5-0, 3 КО) will fight with Yogli Herrera from Colombia (28-17, 20 КО).
21-year-old Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov, born in the city of Isfara (Tajikistan), currently lives in St. Petersburg, started his professional career in December 2015. Already in the first bout against Nikolai Buzolin he won a vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Сontinental title by a technical knock-out in the 8th round . On February 18th Muhammadkhuja will defend for the first time his title against an experienced rival.
34-year-old Yogli Herrera from Colombia, who currently lives in Miami (USA), debuted on the professional ring in March 2004 in bantamweight category (up to 53,5 kg). During his long career Herrera met on the ring with such famous boxers as Anselmo Moreno, Mikey Garcia, Alexander Bakhtin, Miguel Roman, and in March 2016 he became the Champion of Colombia in super featherweight category.
